U13’s Hurlers season comes to an end

Our u13s finished up the hurling season today. Unfortunately they lost by a single point in the county final against Dromin/Athlacca/Banogue side. Our opponents took full advantage of the wind and took their scores, that coupled with our lads not settling very well saw us trailing by 5 points to no score at half time even though we were in hard luck for a goal. Monagea/Knockaderry not done yet came out much better in the 2nd half. The boys upped the pace, it paid off, a single point is all Dromin/Athlacca/Banogue managed to score. Monagea/Knockaderry finished off the last 10mins well on top a couple of points and a goal saw us down a single point with minutes to go. Unfortunately the damage was done in the first half. Another 2 mins on the clock might have sealed a victory for us but today was not our day. Congratulations to Dromin/Athlacca/Banogue. Well done to our own boys, we’re very proud of ye. No rest, football group final tomorrow at 12noon in Monagea.

U12s Finish the Season in Style

Our U12s under the guidance of Tom O’Connor and Connie Broderick finished off their season in style this evening. In the football group stages they lost to Granagh/Ballingarry, won against Rathkeale and lost to Knockaderry. In their football final they beat both Castletown/Ballyagran and Rathkeale. The hurling season saw a group stage which included a walkover vs Rathkeale, followed by 2 wins against Knockaderry and Feohanagh/Castlemahon. The finals tonight resulted in two wins over Ballybricken/Bohermore and Doon. This u12 team have improved so much as the season progressed, they’re a hard working bunch of players. Credit and thanks due to Tom and Connie for training them. Thanks also to the parents who have given great support all year. The future is bright. ????????????????
